I'm retelling the heroine's journey, based on the ancient fairy tales and myths, suppressed for millennia! It's exciting and life affirming, going backwards to go forwards! XO
Thanks for the question, but I'm the "other" Kate Farrell, a storyteller in California. We are sometimes mixed up with one another, poet and storyteller. In fact, I was once invited as a conference keynote speaker for the poet; I clarified the mixup, but they kept me anyway. 😂
Kate, let me send you a little fairytale I wrote on recovering from grief. It inludes the language of flowers, and myths of girls turning into trees and a girl's recovery from grief through suffering with the guide of Acheron, River of Woe. I'll put a link here and if you fancy, I can post you one
Yes, I set out very young to tell the secret stories of those girls and boys abused in their own families. The myth of the all happy family pervades our culture and works to silence the painful stories of less fortunate children. It is mostly a case of power -- those who have it work hard to silence those they opress.

Kate, did you teach at Columbia, with and without Kenneth Koch?

Oh that is funny I see you are on the west coast and she is east so at least there is that
That there is! I think it's great that both us Kates are still kicking up the creative dust. :)
